Ignis Scientia is a calm and composed young man.


Like Gladiolus, Ignis has known Noctis since childhood. He is consistently level-headed, highly intelligent, quick-thinking, and possesses a serious, disciplined personality. From an early age, he received an elite education in preparation for serving Noctis as his future strategist and advisor.


As one of Noctis’s closest confidants, Ignis supports and compensates for his awkwardness and inexperience, while also offering guidance and advice when needed. He is both a loyal aide and a trusted friend who deeply understands him.

  Origin and Design of Noctis Lucis Caelum The origin of Noctis Lucis Caelum’s design is rooted in the early development phase of the Fabula Nova Crystallis project, at a time when Tetsuya Nomura was still working on Kingdom Hearts II. According to various development interviews and project retrospectives, Nomura reportedly conceived an early idea for a male protagonist as early as the mid-2000s, with a more modern and realistic tone compared to the usual standards of the Final Fantasy series. This initial conceptual sketch is said to have predated his full reading of the Final Fantasy XIII planning document and was more closely aligned with his personal vision of a “contemporary” protagonist rather than a clearly defined project direction at that stage. 𝙉𝙤𝙢𝙪𝙧𝙖: The design that had been drawn within the development team beforehand was a simple, tight-fitting outfit, but for the reasons I mentioned earlier, I changed the design significantly. Actually, before I heard the details from the planning team, I had assumed the protagonist was male and had been drawing with that in mind. When I later learned the character was female, I redrew the design  but I liked the male design I had created at first, so I decided to use it as the protagonist ( Noct ) of 𝗙𝗙 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗫𝗜𝗜𝗜.
