The circumstances behind the transition to “FFXV” — First of all, could you tell us about the circumstances behind changing the title from Final Fantasy Versus XIII to Final Fantasy XV? Around when did such a plan begin? Nomura: About one or two years after the announcement of “FF Versus XIII,” the company already suggested, as part of its policy, shifting it into “FFXV.” — Really!? So discussions about changing the title had already begun around 2007–2008? Nomura: At the time, quite a bit of time had already passed since the announcement, and the title “Versus XIII” had become well established. 𝙉𝙤𝙢𝙪𝙧𝙖: The design that had been drawn within the development team beforehand was a simple, tight-fitting outfit, but for the reasons I mentioned earlier, I changed the design significantly. Actually, before I heard the details from the planning team, I had assumed the protagonist was male and had been drawing with that in mind. When I later learned the character was female, I redrew the design  but I liked the male design I had created at first, so I decided to use it as the protagonist ( Noct ) of 𝗙𝗙 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗫𝗜𝗜𝗜.
