Prompto Argentum is a cheerful young man who carries a gun. His overly energetic personality makes him less of a mood-maker and sometimes more of a troublemaker.


Unlike Noctis and the others, Prompto does not come from a special or noble lineage. He became friends with them during their school days and is known as a playful, lighthearted companion who loves joking around and flirting with girls.


However, beneath his carefree attitude, Prompto secretly feels insecure about the difference in social status between himself and his friends, and he is conscious of not having grown up with them as a childhood companion. Because of this, he sincerely wishes to be useful to the group and has a genuinely kind and earnest side hidden beneath his joking personality.

  Origin and Design of Noctis Lucis Caelum The origin of Noctis Lucis Caelum’s design is rooted in the early development phase of the Fabula Nova Crystallis project, at a time when Tetsuya Nomura was still working on Kingdom Hearts II. According to various development interviews and project retrospectives, Nomura reportedly conceived an early idea for a male protagonist as early as the mid-2000s, with a more modern and realistic tone compared to the usual standards of the Final Fantasy series. This initial conceptual sketch is said to have predated his full reading of the Final Fantasy XIII planning document and was more closely aligned with his personal vision of a “contemporary” protagonist rather than a clearly defined project direction at that stage. 𝙉𝙤𝙢𝙪𝙧𝙖: The design that had been drawn within the development team beforehand was a simple, tight-fitting outfit, but for the reasons I mentioned earlier, I changed the design significantly. Actually, before I heard the details from the planning team, I had assumed the protagonist was male and had been drawing with that in mind. When I later learned the character was female, I redrew the design  but I liked the male design I had created at first, so I decided to use it as the protagonist ( Noct ) of 𝗙𝗙 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘂𝘀 𝗫𝗜𝗜𝗜.
